Disadvantage
For each Disadvantage that you have on a Test you will roll an additional d10
. The lowest d10
will then be used as the die result when calculating your Score the Test. A Disadvantage usually remains in effect until the circumstances that imposed it are no longer relevant. Abilities that give you a Disadvantage will generally describe how long it lasts.
When you have both Advantages and Disadvantages, they cancel each-other out at a rate of one-to-one. After canceling out, the total number of Advantages or Disadvantages that remain is capped at 3. This means you will only ever need 4 or fewer 10-sided dice for any one Test.
If a Critical Roll is rolled as one of the dice in a Test with a Disadvantage, resolve the Critical Roll for each die separately before determining which die is the highest or lowest. This may mean ignoring a Critical Success, as there may be a lower die result.
