Poison
Type: Grey Good
Tags: Consumed, Debuff
Flavor: Choose one of the Core Fleeting Conditions.
A target that ingests the Poison or is attacked with a weapon on which the poison is applied must make a Grit Save. On a Passing Score the target gains 1 stack of your chosen Flavor's Status Condition. On a Failing Score the target gains 2 stack of your chosen Flavor's Status Condition. A target that has a Resistance or Immunity to any type of Caustic Damage can apply that Defense to your Flavor's Status Condition as well.
Use up this Item to apply it to a weapon:
Time: Free Action Target: A weapon in Swinging Distance(1u) that isn't being worn or carried by a hostile entity
Effect: Buff
Apply Poison to the target weapon, affecting the next Basic Attack with that same weapon.
A weapon can only have one Consumed Item applied to it at a time and can be removed from a weapon by spending a Beat.
The poison can also be applied in other ways, like sneaking it into food or drink. Ask your GM before improvising.
Item Search Tiers determine the Poison's full effect:
- [0!] F: You slipped up. You gain no item and you immediately gain a random stack of a Core Condition until you next use a Recovery.
- [..6] You gain no item.
- [7..9] C: As written.
- [10..] A: You can add one Upgrade.
- [10!] S: You can add two Upgrades.
Upgrades:
- Complex(1).
- Complex(2).
- Delayed Release.
- You can specify a delay. The Poison will only take effect after the delay has passed.
- Lasting.
- If the target Fails the Grit Save, one stack of the Fleeting Condition remains as a Persistent Condition for 1 day. Upon gaining this Poison, flip a coin. If you guess it, you also have an antidote for the Poison that can be taken or applied to the wounded area as an Action.
- Weaponized.
