Bottle of a Drowned Lover

Type: Grey Good
Tags: Wield, Knowledge

This simple, green bottle once contained a message of love written by the hand of a drowned man.

All bottles connected to the same Drowned Lover share magic bond.

You can write a poem or message of love on ordinary parchment and place it in the bottle, then, as an Action, you can submerge the bottle, uncorked, in water and speak the name of the Drowned Lover's Muse. The moment the name is spoken, the message will dissolve away, vanishing from the bottle. All empty bottles connected to the same Drowned Lover will then instantly fill with water and a replica of the paper sent, though it will be rewritten with the handwriting of the drowned lover. Any messages not posed as a poem or as a message to a loved one will not be replicated. Only drawings of nature will be crudely replicated.

You must know the name of the Drowned Lover's Muse to send a message. If the bottle is not empty at the time a message is sent, the message will never be received. The bottle can receive messages whether corked or not. If a received message is not removed from its water within one hour of appearing, it will be become illegible due to water damage.

An artificer of 6th level or higher can use Replicate Magic Item to duplicate an existing bottle's bond onto a new, empty bottle, so long as the artificer knows the name of the drowned lover's corespondent. A bottle can only be connected to one lover at a time. Attempting to bind the bottle to a new lover will break the old bond.
