You are a Protégé of a powerful Patron. Your Patron will give you a Quest (created by the GM) that will likely take 3 or more Episodes to accomplish. If you complete your Quest, you can gain two Experience Points.

Upon taking your first Upgrade, you enter into a Pact with your Patron. While in the Pact, your Patron can grant you new Quests. Failing a Quest or making your Patron mad can bring about dire circumstances.

The number of Upgrades you can have on this Ability is limited to the number of Quests you have completed for your Patron. All Upgrades can also be taken instead of learning a new Social Ability. If ever your Patron dies, you must find a new one before you can take on new Upgrades (and your GM may ask that you change your Flavor going forward to match your new Patron.)

If ever you want to be free from your Pact, inform your GM, who will work to give you options as a part of the plot. Once free from your Pact, you can maintain your current benefits of this Ability and your Patron will no longer give you Quests and can no longer punish you. (But you are not barred from taking Upgrades up to the normal completed-Quests limit.)
